Harriet Louise Turner Clark

Harriet Louise Turner Clark, 80, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Nash General Hospital.

Mrs. Clark was a native of Wilson County, the daughter of the late Kirby Turner and Lucille Pitt Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, C. D. Clark, Jr., her sister, Ann T. Joyner and her brother, Don Turner.

She was a graduate of Wake Forest College and dearly loved teaching school. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Roanoke Rapids Garden Club and on various committees in Roanoke Rapids. She was an active member of Rosemary United Methodist Church. Louise loved people and was a friend to all.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her two daughters, Carol Dean and her husband, David, of Roanoke Rapids, and Anna Clark of Bel Air, MD; her granddaughter, Alex Dean; her grandson, Bryan Dean, both of whom she dearly loved; and her sister, Frances T. Edwards, of Simpson, NC.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rosemary United Methodist Church, 900 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
